Methodology
How the question bank is built
Sources, review process, and accuracy controls for the 11,000+ verified questions on Kerala PSC Prep.
Source material
The Kerala PSC syllabus draws from a known set of textbooks and primary documents. We work from the same sources the PSC question setters do — no shortcuts, no third-party rehashes.
- NCERT textbooks (Class 8 to 12) for Polity, History, Geography, Economy, General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Mathematics, Mental Ability.
- SCERT Kerala textbooks (Class 8 to 12, including Plus One and Plus Two) for Kerala-specific GK, Malayalam, and Kerala history / culture / geography.
- Kerala PSC previous-year papers (2015 to 2024) — every question we've been able to source from official PSC releases, mined for recurring topics and patterns.
- Kerala Government publications and official syllabi (KSEB, KSRTC, KAS, Civil Police Officer notifications, Plus 2 Lecturer notifications) for cadre-specific question patterns.
Question authoring + review
Every question that enters the bank goes through a three-role audit before publish. We call this the triple audit:
- Student check. Is the question a complete thought? Are the options clean and non-overlapping? Does the question pretend to test one thing while actually testing another? Catches dangling stems, weasel wording, and ambiguous answer keys.
- Professor check. Is the answer factually defensible? Does the explanation reference a verifiable source (article, year, section)? Catches plausible-but-wrong answer keys.
- Exam-expert check. Does the question carry a real PSC-style testable detail (a date, section, article, ratio, acronym)? Catches questions that read fine but would never appear in an actual PSC paper.
A question that fails any role is rejected. This is enforced in code, not by checklist — the audit is part of the publish pipeline. The repository shows the gates in scripts/quiz_audit.py, scripts/audit-cadre-slices.py, and the triple_audit_mcq path in the Shorts pipeline.
English + Malayalam parity
Every quiz, mock test and note ships in both English and Malayalam on launch day — not as a translation afterthought. The Malayalam paper is a real Malayalam paper (with English grammar items left in English where the PSC expects them, and vice versa). Same questions, same answer keys, same explanations, indexed under /ml/.
Pattern fidelity to the PSC exam
Mock tests follow the actual PSC structure that students will face:
- 100 questions, 75 minutes
- Negative marking: +1 correct, −0.33 wrong (Kerala PSC standard)
- Topic mix matches the official syllabus weight (Polity, History, Geography, Economy, Science, Kerala GK, Mental Ability, English, Malayalam, Computer Awareness)
- Three difficulty tiers (Foundation / Graduate / Advanced) to match LDC and LGS through KAS Prelims
Errata and corrections
If you spot a wrong answer key, an outdated fact, or a poorly-worded question, please flag it. We act on every report. The fastest path is the WhatsApp number; email also works.
Corrections are applied to the live bank within 24 hours of confirmation. The repository's commit history is the authoritative log of every change.
What this site does NOT do
- No paid-only content. The full question bank, every mock test, the personal dashboard, and daily current affairs are all free with sign-in.
- No "premium tier" with hidden material. A voluntary supporter tier (/premium) exists for students who want to chip in — it unlocks nothing extra.
- No personal-data resale. We capture an email (for score history sync) and that's it. No third-party tracking pixels beyond Google Analytics and standard Firebase.
- No claims we can't substantiate. Stats stated on the site are checked against actual counts in the repo.
Who runs this
